Recent jobs

Three jobs Corey finished recently. Where we have it, each one names the mix that was poured and the supplier it came from, so if you like the look of one you can ask for it by name when you get a quote.

White exposed aggregate surround around an in-ground pool, running back to a modern single-storey home with a stone-clad feature wall, under a deep blue sky in North Dandalup

Honed concrete alfresco, Karnup

An alfresco in Karnup in honed concrete. The slab runs from the sliding doors under the main roof and out under the gable patio, so it reads as one floor from the house to the yard.

Honing grinds the top of the slab back until the stone in the mix shows through, here a cream base with grey, white and amber stone. The colour is Magnolia, from Holcim. It ends up smooth and flat enough for an outdoor table and chairs, and it sweeps and mops clean.

Exposed aggregate pool surround, North Dandalup

A wide exposed aggregate surround around an in-ground pool on a big block in North Dandalup. The concrete runs from the pool edge all the way back to the house, which is the photo at the top of this page.

The mix is Ledge Point White: mostly white and cream stone with black and amber flecks through it. Light concrete soaks up less sun than dark, which matters on a surface people walk on barefoot.

Look for the straight lines across the slab. Those are saw cuts. Concrete shrinks as it cures, and the cuts give it a planned place to crack, hidden in the joint, instead of a random one across the middle.

Kajaani Grey exposed aggregate driveway, Canning Vale

A driveway in Canning Vale in Limecrete's Kajaani Grey: a charcoal base with white, black, grey and amber stone through it. It runs from the front of the house out to the street.

A darker mix shows tyre marks and everyday dirt less than a white one, and stands out against a pale house or limestone garden walls, as it does here. These were taken when the job was just finished, with the driveway still taped off.

Picking a mix for your place

The same exposed aggregate finish looks completely different depending on the stone in the mix. White mixes read bright and clean. Grey and charcoal mixes give more contrast and show less dirt. Suppliers each have their own range and names, so the easiest way to get the look you want is to point at a photo.

Not sure yet? Choosing a finish compares exposed aggregate, honed concrete, liquid limestone and coloured concrete, and the gallery has more of Corey's work. Or ring Corey on 0409 141 617.
